Aggregate Solutions DOUBLES Elam Construction’s Production
Elam Construction, one of the largest American-owned and locally operated paving contractors and asphalt producers in western Colorado, was recently featured in a Pit & Quarry article about how the aggregate equipment and product support solutions from Power Equipment Company significantly increased production.
Elam operates a new, all-electric portable crushing plant comprising of a Lippmann 2450 jaw crusher, Terex-Cedarapids 6′ x 20′ pre-screen, Terex-Cedarapids MVP 550X cone crusher, and a Cedarapids/Fab Tec 6′ x 20′ tandem screen plant and supporting conveyors. The new crushing plant, with the MVP 550X cone crusher as the main component, can produce 400,000 to 500,000 tpy, which is more than double the production of their previous plant.
“We have a good relationship with our Cedarapids dealer, Power Equipment Company, in Denver,” said Greg Monger, Elam’s Manager of Aggregates.”We perform routine maintenance and repairs in house, but we rely on the dealer for major repairs and fast delivery of parts as needed.”
