The Liebherr R 960 SME Crawler Excavator (Super Mass Excavation) features the undercarriage of the next crawler excavator up in the range, the R 966. A heavy counterweight allows a larger bucket and special attachments to achieve higher ripping and breakout forces.
High Stress Excavator
The stick and bucket cylinders of the R 960 SME have increased diameter and purposely designed equipment, resulting in higher breakout and digging forces.
Liebherr Tier 4 Engine
The new Liebherr engine, pursuant to the Stage Tier 4 emission standards, comprises a diesel exhaust fluid injection device (SCR) for the after-treatment of exhaust gases, with no need for a particle filter, diesel oxidation catalyst or EGR.
Rugged Undercarriage
The R 960 SME is equipped with double grouser, beveled track pads as standard for better working and driving conditions in every ground type.
Operating in Comfort
The new operator‘s cab features exceptional soundproofing, air conditioning and is standard equipped with a pneumatic seat with heating.
